Shop n’ Dump
Current Obsession
Since I can’t show my face in the downtown Nordy’s for a few more months (and everyone knows the Northgate location is crap), I have been having an affair with the Nordstrom website. Usually I can’t stand online shopping – half the joy of shopping is in fondling the racks and sniffing the leather bags (you know you do it too) – but I admit I’ve really got an online buzz going. See, the computer doesn’t know that I can’t afford nine pairs of shoes, so it can’t glare at me as I fill my virtual shopping basket, and it doesn’t whisper behind my back when I decide not to buy anything, after all. So far I’ve selected two purses, two Marc Jacobs pea coats (one black, one pink), a Laundry sun dress, a Trina Turk silk blouse, and five pairs of shoes. And it only costs $2,777! But as that would take me two years to pay off on my sad little Marvie salary, I must delete, delete, delete. Ah, the shop n’ dump – my new favorite hobby. But how can I live without this Donald Pliner tie dye tote? And I already feel I’ve made a personal connection with these Michael Kors Copa Cabana shoes, so I will narrow it down to those two. Total: $395 – Ha! So much more affordable. And now I will just check my bank account…oh. Oh dear. Well, maybe I’ll just take a look-see in the sale section, instead.
Trend of the Day
Shoooooooooes.
Today’s Celebrity Gossip
Apparently, Viggo Mortensen is still not in love with me.
Profound Thought
Maybe it’s not really Viggo I love, but Aragorn. On that note, maybe it’s not really the Michael Kors shoes I love, but the idea that wearing the shoes could cause my peers to admire and envy me, thus elevating my status in society.
Unfounded Anxiety
Did I just say something smart?
